Bhaskar Goswami

In 2007 Bhaskar Goswami founded BODHI (www.bodhiprinciple.com), a company dedicated to offering genuine wellbeing in workplaces. For this, he won the Quebec Entrepreneurship Contest and Accolade for Recognizing Business Excellence, both for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’. Based in Montreal, BODHI is privileged to offer authentic wellness programs in several prestigious organizations.

In 2015 he founded daana (winner, CBC Media Prize), an organization offering anonymous contribution-based wellness worldwide (www.globaldaana.org).

🕉Meena Bali


Meena Bali was born in India and introduced to Yoga at a very early age as part of her school curriculum.
After moving to Toronto she decided to pursue her career as a medical researcher and worked within the hospital system for over 20 years.
She studied under her Uncle, Dr. Madan Bali a renowned 97 year old Yoga Master who guided her to the knowledge that Yoga is the pathway to true harmony, health and happiness thus leading us to an authentic and fulfilling life.

Meena now works with people who are in distress, physically & emotionally by introducing yoga as an alternate form of therapy in treating psychosomatic disorders simply by changing breathe patterns.
She specializes in Chakra Balancing through a series of Bali yoga postures and different guided meditations.

🕉Isabel Justo Kahn:


Isabel Justo Kahn is the founder and director of Bhakti Spiritual Center and has been practicing and guiding yoga and meditation now for over 25 years.
Yoga is a spiritual practice that allows us to heal from the inside out. It is transformative in nature and impacts every part of life. Ultimately, it enables you to see that the receiving of its gift is in the giving. For this reason, Isabel has dedicated her life to giving back.
She works primarily in bringing the program to those who might not otherwise have access to it, such as women’s shelters and children’s outreach programs. Her philosophy is that no one should be deprived of the opportunity to get well. The aim being to lessen the barriers to those seeking spiritual growth as a way of life.
She believes in an integrative approach and has multiple certifications at both spiritual, energy and cognitive levels, such as Reiki, Therapeutic Yoga, a Ph.D. Doctor of Philosophy specializing in Therapeutic counselling, (with an emphasis in East-West Spirituality & Therapeutic Counselling), to name a few.
She believes that the therapeutic approach to yoga that she practices and guides to be the gateway to true peace and happiness, through its focus on uniting the body and the mind. Its goal is to ultimately allow us to feel whole and connected

 

🕉Peter Van der Kroon

 

​​Curiosity of Buddhism and Hinduism began about 30 years ago and Peter then began doing yoga over 20 years ago at the YMCA, Teacher Trainings began there with Beth Shaw’s Yogafit levels 1, 2, 3 with Anatomy and Alignment. He then subbed for a number of people at the YMCA and other locations. In 2009 Peter completed Dr. Bali’s 200 hour training and later in 2017 another 300 hours of study with Robin Golt. Also since 2010 spent many hours with Dr. Bali doing karma yoga together helping to promote his message of wellness. Over the years he has also spent time visiting Sivananda ashrams at Val Morin, Bahamas, Nayyer Dam & Madurai plus the center in Chennai, visited the ashram of Amma the hugging mother in Amritapuri, the Aurobindo ashram and Auroville in Pondicherry. Back in North America visited Swami Satchidananda Yogaville ashram in Virginia, Kripalu, Omega Institute and the Ananda ashram in Monroe, New York. Currently offering a weekly karma Chair Yoga class at centre Evasion, a day center for seniors.

His teachings encourage movement of the entire body to help lubricate all of our joints, improve circulation helping to dislodge metabolic wastes and improve muscle tone. Use of the Bali Method to invoke the relaxation response to help maximize our power to rebuild, renew and repair itself. By shifting from the rational mind to the intuitive mind, from thinking to feeling our energy is being conserved for more useful purposes. Enjoy the feeling of being refreshed after completing the class!

 

 

🕉Nicole Makridis

Nicole Makridis completed a master’s degree in social work and has more than 15 years of experience working in CLSC, school and community settings. She has been teaching at the Université de Montréal school of social work since 2010.

Nicole has more than 25 years of practice and more than 1000 hours of teacher training in yoga and meditation. Initially trained in the Sivananda lineage, she pursued an advanced degree in therapeutic yoga with Dr. Madan Bali as well as other specialized certifications, allowing her to teach in diverse methods and environments, mostly tovulnerable populations.

In 2016, she founded Alcôve Yoga, an inclusive and adapted yoga and meditation school. Recently, AlcôveYoga became Zen Alcôve, integrating other elements promoting wellness such as plant-based nutrition, nature and other contemplative practices. Her current research is focused on traditional contemplative practices from all cultural backgrounds.

Nicole feels at home in temples, forests, classrooms and kitchens. In her spare time, she cooks, forages and explores forest trails with her dachshund Milo.

🕉 Jenny Bee

It was after her second child, and a postpartum depression diagnosis that Jenny turned her back on her thriving journalism career and started training to be a yoga teacher. It was yoga that got her out of her most difficult times. Witnessing firsthand yoga’s ability to heal and transform.
Jenny is a certified yoga therapist, yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant doula and birth educator with 500hr+ Yoga Alliance training. Despite all this training, her biggest teachers are her two young children.
She is also author of the book, A Yogi Mama’s Guide to Yoga, Ayurveda & Your Child.
Jenny brings a therapeutic approach to the various styles of yoga she teaches– from Yin to dynamic flow. While she works with a variety of populations, her passion is helping new and expectant moms connect with their breath, body and baby.
Jenny offers private and semi private yoga therapy for fertility, pregnancy and postpartum issues including PPD and diastasis recti. She also teaches regular Yoga for Birth Couples’ Workshops, and gives Ayurvedic massage.
